THE CLUBS SERIES is the official ACBL beginner's bridge course on the basics of bidding and play and is also useful for rusty players to update their game. It's an eight or ten week course which includes hand evaluation, opening 1NT, opening bids and responses, rebids by opener and responder, overcalls, takeout doubles and responses, and basic play concepts. Each class includes "hands on" practice in bidding and play. Textbooks are available from the instructor for $15

RUSTY BRIDGE is an eight or ten-week course that is specially designed for those who want to update their bidding skills, improve their communication with their partners, and/or revive their "college days" playing skills. It begins with an complete basic bidding review, followed by an introduction to preemptive and slam bidding, the Stayman convention, leads against NT vs. Suit Contracts, bidding in the "balancing seat", and the distinction between forcing and non-forcing bids. Each session will consist of 1/2-hour lecture and 1 1/2 hours supervised play with predealt hands that illustrate the subject of the day. A workbook is available from the instructor at a cost of $5

THE DIAMOND SERIES is the ACBL intermediate course (8 or 10 weeks), which focuses on "Play of the Hand". The main objective is to develop a "Plan by Declarer" including the counting of winners or losers, developing tricks, finessing, eliminating losers, managing the trump suit, considering entries and avoiding the Dangerous opponent. There is a textbook available from the instructor for $15.

WEAK TWOs & 2♣ OPENINGS
This course is a complete overview of a previously popular bidding system that is once again being used by today’s players. We cover the mini-preemptive opening bids or overcalls of 2♦, 2♥, 2♠ and the response system. We also show how to opening with strong hands when one is lucky enough to hold one! Responses are included. As always there will be predealt hands with which to practice our new found system!.

THE DIAMOND-PLUS OR SUPERVISED PLAY is a series of 4 or 8 weeks designed to provide reinforcement of one's bridge skills. Each week 8 predealt hands are played while Carol is available for advice (help) on bidding, declarer's plan, or defensive strategy. Time permitting, there will also be randomly dealt hands for further exploration and fun. All hands will be discussed.

DOUBLES This course covers the use of the double bid. Depending on when it is used it has many meanings. Class covers Take-out double and responses, Balancing doubles and responses, support doubles and if time permits Negative Doubles.

THE HEART SERIES - Part I is an eight week course which concentrates on defensive bidding and play. It encompasses Leads against NT, Leads against Suit contracts, Second Hand play and Third Hand play.
Part II covers Defensive Signals, How to Develop Defensive
Tricks, How to interfere with Declarer's Plan, and Making a Defensive Plan. There will be 8 predealt hands each week to bid and play that demonstrates the lessons.

MODERN BIDDING CONVENTIONS is a 4 or 8 week course that covers a selection of bidding conventions including Stayman, Jacoby Transfers, Weak Twos and the Strong Two Club opener, Michaels Cue- Bid, Unusual NT bids, Negative Doubles, Forcing 1NT plus others. Balancing, third and forth seat bidding, and other confusing issues, like "reverse" bids, can also be addressed. An optional textbook is available from the instructor for $18

MINI DUPLICATE is a gentle introduction to duplicate bridge over an eight period. Come with one's favorite partner or we will provide you with a partner at each class. Approximately 8 hands will be played with an analysis given and discussed, time permitting, at the end of each class. The teacher will be available for help in bidding and planning at all times. The intent of the instructor is to provide a friendly and fun environment in which to learn better bridge! There is an optional textbook available at discount from the instructor.

IMPROVE YOUR BRIDGE
This 4-week course is for those who like to expand their standard guidelines for opening the bidding in 1st and 2nd seat (rule of 20) vs. 3rd and 4th seats. We will introduce opening “Weak Two’s” and the responses and the strong “Two Club” opening and its responses. Each session will consist of a ½ hour lecture and 1 ½ hours supervised play with predealt hands that illustrate the subject of the day. There are free handouts.

COMPETITIVE BIDDING
This is a 4 week course to help experienced players better handle bidding situations when the opponents compete. Several types of cue bidding will be discussed along with the strategy for sacrificing using the Law of Total Tricks. There will be handouts, homework and hands-on experience with predealt hands to demonstrate the issue at hand.

Courses are taught in two-hour weekly classes.
